Pathways Counseling Center, LLC was established in 2009 to provide high quality and affordable counseling services to children, teens, and families of the Greenville area.
Jennifer Zare, founder of Pathways Counseling Center, LLC is licensed as an independent clinical social worker by the South Carolina Board of Social Work Examiners.
Jennifer received her Bachelors in Psychology from The University of Notre Dame in 2002. She went on to obtain her Masters of Social Work (MSW) from The University of Wisconsin-Madison with advanced concentrations in Health, Aging, Disability, and Mental Health. Graduate work was completed in 2003.
Jennifer's education and experience includes specializations in child and adolescent mental health, developmental disorders, and chronic illness management. She has enjoyed working with children, teens, and families within a variety of settings including The University of Wisconsin Children's Hospital, medical clinics, community mental health centers, a public health department, and within private homes.
Jennifer has substantial experience working with children who have been diagnosed with Autism/Pervasive Developmental Disorders via Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy training at the University of Notre Dame and via Wisconsin's Early Autism Project (WEAP) in Madison, WI. The methods of Relationships Development Intervention (RDI) were also learned and utilized to teach and help develop social skills.
Furthermore, Jennifer has enjoyed working with children, adolescents, and families who have been challenged by divorce, grief, sexual abuse, physical abuse, and various emotional and behavioral issues.
Therapy techniques include viewing each challenge within a family systems context while utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, play therapy techniques, and various creative therapy interventions to meet the unique needs of each child, adolescent, and family.

Pathways is excited to announce the addition of Friederike "Rike" Wilday in February, 2011.
Friederike is a Licensed Professional Counselor, experienced in working with children, adolescents, and adults. Friederike completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Liberty University in 1998. She went on to complete her Master's degree in Counseling at Webster University in 2002.
Friederike has a wealth of experience working with families to improve fractured relationships, and to help parents/caregivers manage behavioral issues involving their children and adolescents. Additionally, Rike enjoys working with adult women and couples.
Friederike views the process of individual and family therapy as a collaboration between therapist and client. She employs a variety of methods geared toward the individual need. These methods include: cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy techniques, play therapy techniques, and solution-focused therapy.
Friederike follows the ethical code and principles of the national Board of Certified Counselors, and the South Carolina Board of Examiners for Licensed Professional Counselors.
